Textbook, Curriculum, Test Bank

These entities have combined resources to develop a readily available textbook, curriculum, and certification test bank for the courses of "Youth Firesetting Prevention and Intervention Specialist" and "Youth Firesetting Program Manager" courses.  These meet the NFPA Standard 1030 for professional qualifications for this work.  This collaborative innovation makes training to provide youth firesetting intervention services even more available to communities across the nation.  The attached video explains the course and connects you to acquiring the training materials.  CLICK HERE for video.

IFSTA ResourceOne On-line Introductory Course on Youth Firesetting Prevention & Intervention - IFSTA ResourceOne has developed a 90 minute online course to introduce interventionists to youth firesetting behaviors.  This is not a substitute for training that meets the NFPA 1030 Standards for Youth Firesetting Intervention Specialist and/or Youth Firesetting Program Manager.  This introductory course is a prerequisite for NFA courses on YFPIS and YFPM.  To access the course, CLICK HERE

"Youth Firesetting Prevention and Intervention" Textbook - Written by Don Porth and in partnership with the National Fire Academy (NFA) and Vision 20/20, the first edition of Fire Protection Publication’s Youth Firesetting Prevention and Intervention will equip interventionists and program managers with the tools needed to create, implement, and evaluate a Youth Firesetting Prevention and Intervention program.
